About This Project

In honor of the conference organized by Hope XXL that was held on December 6, 2012, a campaign site had to be launched in the very short term around the theme of Grade Your Life in the form of a compact custom web application. It has become a platform on which visitors – who represent a young target group in particular – and who are expected to come to the site in particular from social media – can upload a photo, rate their life and then enter it. be able to motivate a set number of characters. Then this data is i.c.m. the photo is automatically processed in a carcass around the theme. The intention is then that visitors start sharing the photo on social media, to bring the concept prominently to the attention. However, they must first log in via the desired social medium (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Windows Live), then the photo can be uploaded / shared.

In the first instance, people come to a website with logo + explanation of the concept and the operation, flanked by various social media icons. If one clicks on one of these buttons, a pop-up screen will appear. There it is then stated that one must log in with the chosen social medium, which means that one must enter his or her username and password of the relevant medium, then confirm this and authorize / authorize the Grade your Life platform (which is a usual step) with such APIs).

Because the web application adapts to the device and / or screen from which it is invoked, it has the added advantage that integration into Facebook can also be relatively seamless. It is possible to load external content into Facebook through an iframe. Here the front side of the web application can be displayed.

A deliberate choice was made not to use e-mail registration and associated confirmation because participating in the promotion would then become a higher threshold compared to logging in via a social medium (with a few mouse clicks). After logging in, the profile data (made available by the API) are stored in the database that runs at the back of the web application.
